Drone Survey

Drone Surveying and Building Surveys

At Destin Chandler Hawkins, we believe that seeing is understanding – especially when it comes to assessing a property’s structure. Our RICS-accredited surveyors combine traditional expertise with advanced drone technology to deliver safe, efficient, and highly detailed building and drone surveys across Fareham, Portsmouth, and the wider Solent area.

Our aerial drone surveys capture high-resolution imagery of roofs, chimneys, gutters, and façades – providing insight into areas that are difficult or unsafe to reach. Whether you need a Level 3 Building Survey, a roof inspection by drone, or a standalone aerial property inspection, our surveys deliver comprehensive visual data to help you make informed decisions about your property’s condition.

By integrating UAV building survey techniques with our hands-on experience, we provide homeowners, buyers, and commercial clients across Hampshire with a complete, evidence-based understanding of their property – from the ground up.

What Is a Drone Survey?

A drone survey uses unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology to capture detailed, high-resolution aerial imagery of a building or site. Using specialist drones equipped with cameras and sensors, our surveyors can inspect roofs, chimneys, and façades without the need for ladders or scaffolding – reducing risk, cost, and disruption.

This approach allows us to carry out roof inspections, structural assessments, and property condition surveys with exceptional accuracy. The images and data collected help identify defects, deterioration, and maintenance issues that may not be visible from the ground, making it a cost-effective and time-efficient solution for property owners and managers alike.

Services

Drone Survey

Sometimes referred to as a full structural survey, technically this is a building survey and is the most thorough survey you can get. The Building Survey is particularly suited to older, larger properties, those built of unconventional materials or if the building has been significantly altered. It is also useful if you are planning major renovation works. The report provides a comprehensive analysis of both the property’s structure and condition. The surveyor will be ‘hands on’ and will complete a thorough inspection of the property and its services. The report will list any defects and advise on repairs and maintenance.

If you are buying a new property, you will want to ensure that it is finished to a standard you would expect, that there is no damage and fittings etc are fit for purpose. Our snagging report will provide a pre-occupation inspection and include photographic evidence of any ‘snags’ identified. This will enable you to ensure that any necessary work or repairs required are completed by the developer. We will complete an external and internal inspection of the property including any permanent outbuildings and hard landscaping such as paved surfaces.
